Present and Past /Past and Present

I hope, for the sake of our country so already damaged, that we the adults have to stop biasing the historical facts in relating them to the minority of our youth who can read. By the same token, we have to stop ignoring the majority of the youth in the “bidonvilles” who are not aware of our history because they are still lacking primary education. Also, I believe, we need to leave history to the historians who have to do research and bring to the new generation at a later time the factual notions of a past era.    Not anyone who can write is a historian.     Any reporter can relate a fact and opinionate about our behaviors but only a historian can try to give a truthful view of the past by, without emotion, collecting and analyzing data.

I hope that while history is in the making, we remember why our illegally occupied county is so damaged. Even though some of us are slowly trying to bring changes but the essential is not done. Allow me to enumerate two categories that contain elements which are still predominating in our society as of today:
1. Man-made cataclysm:    Corruption, exploitation of the poor,      lack of education, lack of health, unemployment, lack of agricultural development, lack of knowledge about environmental protection, lack of infrastructure, crime, insecurity, insalubrities, overpopulation, “déchoukage”, individualism, inconsistency, politically incorrect morals, back stabbing, self-interested foreign alliances.
2. Natural cataclysm based on the country geographic position and geological formation: Earthquakes, hurricanes, mudslides, flood, deluges.

Furthermore, based on the recent events, I hope that we acknowledge our mistakes and swear that no one occupying the position of president would use the country has his/her personal fief, whether or not elected by the majority or chosen by the “International.”     We are supposed to be, after God, the master of our destiny.    It is not too late for us to do well and make sure that history will not judge us as the sell-out generation without consciousness and dignity.
